2024-01-08

On Dia de la Velitas (Little Candle Day) in 2023, Colombia's traditional festival, a heartfelt ceremony was held to celebrate the partnership between Mindray and Operation Smile Colombia. A group of cleft patients and their families joined the ceremony, and the smiles on their faces, the music they sang, and the sparkles in their eyes made this day truly unforgettable.

From this day forward, Mindray Colombia formally becomes the second country in Mindray's 10-year commitment to Operation Smile, supporting cleft patients globally and being a part of the effort to illuminate the path of their future.

Operation Smile Colombia was founded in 1988 as part of the Operation Smile global initiation. Over the past 35 years, the organization has conducted over 500 surgical programs and delivered more than 23,000 high-quality surgeries and care for patients with cleft conditions across the country.

Cleft lip is the most common congenital deformity of the mouth and face, and its exact cause is still unknown in medical science. According to statistics, a cleft lip patient is born every three minutes globally. Many of them will face challenges such as difficulty in feeding, speech disorders, and social discrimination, both physiologically and psychologically.

In 2023, Mindray embarked on a partnership with Operation Smile globally, demonstrating a 10-year commitment to providing care for children with cleft conditions.
