Mindray is proud to play a vital role in Scotland’s national screening programme aimed at the early detection of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). Leveraging cutting-edge ultrasound technology, we have partnered with NHS Scotland to save lives by enabling timely diagnosis and preventative care.

The Scottish AAA screening programme, implemented as part of the UK’s "Four Nations" approach, is focused on identifying aneurysms in men aged 65 and above. When detected early, interventions can significantly reduce the risk of rupture, a condition that carries an 85% mortality rate. With 84% of eligible men attending screenings, the programme exemplifies the importance of accessible and accurate diagnostic tools.
Mindray’s advanced M8 ultrasound systems were chosen exclusively for this initiative. Our devices—renowned for their portability, durability, and precision—are pivotal in conducting high-quality scans across all 14 health boards in Scotland.
